Research and inspiration sheet of the first assignment for Visual Effects Gamma Sem 1.
The layout design is painted using Wacom Bamboo Pen & Touch.
Due to the theme – Attack of Machinese, and my subject of interest is lizards, metaballs are used.
Metaballs are, in computer graphics, organic-looking n-dimensional objects.
Thus metaball is a symbol of transformation of lizard into machine.

Experimental on creating a 3D looking 2D image.
Created using Wacom Bamboo Pen & Touch in 4 hours time.
Basic brush provided in Adobe Photoshop is used.
The concept is “I open up my heart, and there’s a note for you. – Are You Happy?(in Korean)”

A documentary film about Venerable Lyan Shih – The Founder of Pure Lotus Hospice of Compassion at Penang.

This is the final assignment for my first year in doing my major – Animation & Visual Effects.
It is also the first time I attempted to create a VFx.
The concept is to create a MoGraph floral that follows the talent,
to a certain degree and it stops when the talent realises something is following her.
The discovery leads to the interaction between the flower and the talent.

Animation & Visual Effects Beta Sem 3
First Assignment, digital matte painting.
A wonderful exposure towards one of the visual effects methods through matte painting.
Matte paint based on Pisa Basilica in Italy.
A total of 4 hours 30 minutes to complete.

친홍 – Chin Hong, My name in Korean.
I found out Hangul characters are harder to manipulate compare to English characters.
Perhaps, it was because I ain’t really familiar with Hangul characters yet.
Korean characters are unique. Looked like Chinese characters yet they aren’t similar.
Easily done in a few strokes of brush.

This is the actual first Motion Graphics design I’ve ever produced.
It is one of the assignments given by the lecturers.
The production took roughly 2 weeks time to design and complete.
There is still a huge room for me, as a beginner in Film & Animation,
to develop my personal style, improve my skills and design senses.

This was the concept board, or AKA poster,
specially designed for my Motion Graphics Design, same title with the poster.
The approach I used to design this poster was slightly different,
rather abstract, I love the outcome of playing the brush settings in,
Adobe Photoshop CS 4.
Somehow, I found out that in Adobe Photoshop CS 4, we can play more at the brush settings.

An assignment to create a flash template when I was taking the course “Scripting Language”.
The flash template was based on grid-design.
Simple, clean, and striking.
Minimalist design was practiced.
